Week of September 19

Oops! I missed last week! I think there was enough on the last website to keep you busy though. This week I've chosen something a little different. This website, KidsKnowIt, has a ton of information on it to learn about. Read through some of it and see if you learn anything new. Of course, there are some games as well, but you're even learning when you play those!

We are into September and have already had our first day off of school! I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. The website for this week includes a lot of brain games and puzzles. But remember to have all of your homework finished before you click on this link or you'll be working on another kind of assignment... one you won't like!

Week of August 29

Welcome to the new school year!!! This year you are only allowed to complete the activities or go to the websites on the current week's post. So if you go to the blog this week, this is the only post you can do. Also, you will only be going to the blog if you have your computer assignment complete, have your other homework finished, or have read your AR book first. There will not be any hurrying to finish your assignments to get to play games. They are all going to be educational websites and activities. We will be learning in Mrs. Smith's room at all times! This week the website is QuizHub. Try all of the matching quizzes, even if you think you won't know the answers. See how well you do!

School is coming...

Can you believe there's only a month left of freedom? This summer has flown by! I've been so busy traveling with friends and family that I have hardly been home. It's been great getting to see so many places and do so many different things, but it would have been nice to have been home a little more. My husband and I went to Hawaii in June. It was beautiful! This is a picture of us at the Seven Sacred Pools on the Road to Hana on Maui. Then three of my girlfriends and I traveled to Florida for some great girl time. Following that, I took four high school girls to Carbondale for yearbook camp. We had a good time and got a lot accomplished for next year's high school yearbook. Then the same day I got home from Carbondale, my whole family (mom, dad, brothers, and their families) got in the cars and headed to Kentucky Lake for a long weekend. There were many awesome memories made this summer. I hope you are enjoying your time off and have gotten to do some fun things this summer as well. See you soon!

I have a webquest that will help you learn more about that part of our history. Go to this website on the Underground Railroad and I will explain more.
