January 2011

The new year always brings with it new hopes and possibilities. There's a feeling of renewal and starting fresh for most people. But it's always up to you! We've still got half the school year left and have a lot to get accomplished. We'll have some fun but learn along the way as well!

Here is a website you've been to before and seemed to enjoy: Edheads

Also, answer this question in a comment for some extra credit: Why do we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday?

Thanksgiving Week

Get ready for the week of stuffing yourself silly and spending time with family members! I personally have three family dinners to attend with one being Christmas as well as Thanksgiving. The only thing I don't like about this time of year is that Christmas keeps getting earlier and earlier. Just let Thanksgiving have it's day already! Then you can turn on your Christmas lights and play the Christmas music. Ok, I'm finished complaining. Here's a website for you to go to. Read a little, play a few games, learn something. http://www.history.com/

Also, some of you have actually read the blog posts and not just clicked on the links. Here is another extra credit item for those who choose to read. How do fortunes get inside fortune cookies? Go to Everyday Mysteries to find out! Post your answer (with your name) as an anonymous comment.

First Week of November

I can't believe it's November already! This year is flying by so fast. It has been great getting to know the middle school students and trying to find fun and educational things for you to do online. Here are a couple websites I want you to check out while I'm gone the end of this week. I'll be at a conference learning a lot of new things to bring back to you. I know you've seen some of these before but it's been awhile.

I'm also going to start posting extra credit possibilities every once in awhile so keep checking back! All you have to do is find the answer and send me a comment with the answer.
